PLEASE READ THIS
By LAW EVERY DJ MUST have ALL equipment P.A.T. tested (Portable Appliance Tested) under health and safety.
More and more venues more so hotels and burgh halls are asking for P.L.I. (Public Liability Insurance) and the reason for this is that their own insurance doesn't cover any outside entertainers i.e. a disco or a band.
So a good reliable company will have this P.L.I. (Public Liability Insurance) Cover.
Then we come back to the P.A.T, even if your dj has P.L.I, with out the P.A.T the insurance is invalid.
Just imagine you party booked, the dj turns up and he can't produce the documents,(HE WILL NOT BE LET IN) you've paid the deposit with no chance of getting it back (He will blame the venue) and you will blame the dj.
And then try and find a disco at short notice, you will pay double and more or you might not even get a disco and your night is ruined.
So always check with the venue owners if they require P.A.T.(Portable Appliance Tested)certificates and P.L.I.(Public Liability Insurance)when your booking your party.
